About Fort Haven
Fort Haven is a Southern Maine renovation and carpentry company owned and operated by a small local team. We're building the kind of company we'd want working in our own homes: skilled, straightforward, organized and easy to communicate with.
Our purpose
When you hire Fort Haven, you are working with a small company where the people responsible for the project are directly involved in the work and the decisions around it. We want customers to know who they are dealing with and feel comfortable asking questions along the way.
We are carpenters first, but good renovation work often involves more than one trade. When a project calls for licensed or specialty work, we coordinate with trusted plumbers, electricians and other trade partners so the project can move forward under one clear plan.
Fort Haven will grow, but we do not want to outgrow the things that matter: taking responsibility for the work, communicating clearly and putting our name on a finished project we are proud of.
Why Fort Haven
Having work done in your home requires trust. We earn that trust by showing up prepared, communicating clearly and doing the work the way it should be done.
You know what is happening, what comes next and who to ask when a question comes up.
Planning, scheduling and coordination help keep the project moving and reduce avoidable surprises.
Our workmanship is backed by a written one-year warranty issued with your completed project closeout documents.
We protect the surrounding space, keep the work area organized and take seriously the fact that we're working in someone's home.
Our principles
We would rather give you a clear, useful answer than push you toward a project that doesn't make sense.
We use sound methods, address the details and do not build around problems that should be fixed first.
Homeowners should understand the plan, the progress and what happens next.
